I have a new RZT 50( well it was new in the spring) I have 20 hours on it. Cutting about 2 acres.
It has the Kohler 25Hp motor.
On one section of lawn about 20 yards long there is a grade where I mow parallel to the incline & sometimes when I make the turn & go a few feet the engine spits out white smoke for a second or two.
It痴 the kind of smoke that looks like its burning oil.
It only lasts a second or two but puts out quite a large cloud of smoke.
It doesn稚 do it every pass & it only takes about 4 passes to cut that area.
I usually have another 45 minutes or so of mowing to do & it never smokes after that.
I知 assuming that the oil pools to one side & gets kicked up into the cylinder for a brief period & that is then burnt off causing the smoke.
The grade is not severe & my 18HP twin MTD rider that I used previously had no white smoke issues.
I check the oil before every use & have never over filled it. I only had to add oil one time from new & that was a small amount.
I changed the oil & filter at 20 hours just because I wanted peace of mind that it had good oil & new filter.
It did the white cloud of smoke after the oil change as well.
I want to know if this is normal or not & if I need to have someone look at it( loose oil pickup?) or if it will be a problem long term?
Ideally I would just not cut this area but that is not an option as It is right next to the road & needs to be kept looking decent.
Thanks
