Just installed a 2 spool rear remote on b7610.
Ran hose from PB port on loader valve to inlet port on new spool valve.

Ran hose from outlet on new spool valve to tractor hydraulic block. (PB line from loader valve used to connect here)

Ran hose from tank return on new spool valve into a tee that also connects the tank return line from the loader valve.

Loader valve works

New spool valves work

3PH will not raise.

Help!

Sounds like the #2 valve has the wrong PB plug or there isn't one. The #2 valve might have 2 outlets and you hooked into and it doesn't have PB plug. Your plumbing is right.

I believe Leejohn is right, if you did not install a PB fitting, then you have two outlets to tank, just like an open circuit. Even if you activate the 3pt lever, the fluid is still flowing out the return port on the remote valve.

Very few valves, if any, come with PB install.

The ports on the #2 valve are labelled

P- I ran a hose from BY on loader valve to this port

N- This hose runs from #2 valve back to the Power beyond port on the tractor transmission

T- This hose goes to a tee(with the return line for loader valve) and into the tank.

Can I remove "T"(plug this port on #2) and the tee?

Should I swap "P" and "N"?

Do I need a different #2 valve?

If the remote valve has a PB port, just install a PB sleeve in it .

Can't find the reference for the N port, but I believe it is the PB port.

Default Re: Ford 1220 FEL hydraulic valve question
Here you go:

T = Tank port (return going back to the sump)

P = Pressure inlet from the pump

N = power beyond outlet to the Next valve

Connecting these lines incorrectly may cause a pump failure so be carefull.

Not sure what you mean by "PB sleeve"?

All the guys are saying the same thing, and I agree also.

Your plumbing is correct, the only thing missing is the power beyond adapter for your new valve.

The Kubota loader valves (mine anyway) have the PB adapter built in, because they intend for it to feed at least the 3ph control valve or possibly a remote valve in all configurations where a loader is installed. Typically the loader is the first device, then the remotes, and finally the 3 ph valve, which usually dumps straight into the tranny case.

There isn't a power beyond fitting at the 3 ph valve, because it's possible to feed the 3ph directly from your pressure source if you don't have a loader in the system. In this case, since the 3 ph is the only device in the system you don't need a power beyond adapter.

The basic rule is: If you have more than one hydraulic device in an open-center system, you need a power beyond function at each direction control valve except the last one in the circuit. If not, the next device in the series circuit won't work, this being the 3ph in your case. Having said that, I'm sure there are some exotic exceptions to that rule, but yours isn't one of them.

Not all valves have a PB adapter available, check with the manufacturer to see if they make one for the valve you have. If so, they're not expensive, about $20 in my case (Prince valve). If they don't make one, your options are pretty limited, you'll probably end up buying another valve that does have that expansion capability.

Good luck!

Not sure what you mean by "PB sleeve"?

If your valve is designed with that capability, there will be a plug in the side of it, which is where the PB sleeve goes. The line feeding the 3 ph valve screws into the PB sleeve outer end.

It's usually sold as a separate accessory item for the valve.

In the attached photo, the PB adapter has the arrow pointing at it, the line coming out of the adapter sleeve goes to my 3 ph valve. If this was the last valve in the circuit, the original plug would be still in place. The two work ports and the return port are on top of the valve, the pressure supply is out of view on the left side. (single remote valve)
