New Owner YM2310

Hello:
I just purchased a 1980 YM2310 that I will be using on my summer property in Northern MI. It came from a dealer and seems to be in good condition with everything working as it should at least as best I can tell.
I'd be interested in hearing from other owners of this model or similar regarding any specific problem areas I should watch for or any upgrades from stock that I may want to consider.
This is my second tractor my first being a Ford 9N that I think I spent more time working on than using but still enjoyed having it.

Congratulations on the 2310 and :welcome: to TBN! My first tractor was and still is a YM169D. It is a great little tractor, a bit smaller than your 2310 but about the same age. The 2310 should be a very good tractor, Yanmar makes a great product, very reliable tractors.

I have a 2301 which is the same except for the transmission. It has been a great little tractor other than the alternator regulator going out. It was just about as cheap to replace the alt with a one wire Denso unit as to replace the regulator which has an iffy reputation at best. I also had to replace the front 4WD seals, shafts and bearings as this thing had run half submerged in the rice fields for many years.

Hi and thanks for the responce. Do you recall what auto application (if any) the Denso unit you used was intended for?? Did you have to do any other modifications such as mounting wtih the unit you used?
