Just purchased a 2004 tractor for our personal use on 13 acres which we will be retiring to hopefully in the next few years. Grew up around tractors but haven't used on since the mid 70's, college, USAF and airlines keep me pretty busy in city life.

Did find a operating manual online and plan to change all the fluids before its used much. The manual does not list part numbers for the filters and the tractor is 2 hrs away so hoping there may be an online resource for the part numbers?

Thanks in advance, Dave

Awesome thank you.

A quick question about the HI/LO speed switch on right fender, I understand that it changes the HST unit speed but does it have any effect on the PTO and if so which speed should it be operated in to insure correct relationship with the 540 RPM mark on the tach?

PTO is independent, go by the marking on the tach for 540 PTO speed.

Thanks for your reply, I assumed it didn't change the PTO speed since there was only one 540 mark on the tach but always best to double check.

NAPA just dropped off all the filters except for the HYD which is on back order.

Just now getting around to dealing with the HYD fluid and filters. So I'm a little confused here the manual says that its a combine sump for the transmission, rear axle and hydraulic system and is checked with the dip stick near the 3 point hitch on the rear and the filter is located near the right rear wheel, ok so far so good. Then it shows a HST filter on the left side middle between the front and rear tires, the question is where do you check it and service it? Or is just an additional filter common to the above mentioned sump?

TIA

It's just another filter pulling fluid from the same sump. They have a sperate filter for the HST system to ensure longer life. Only one spot to check fluid.
