Altenator question. I installed a new delco SI altenator. Main lug on back altenator- wire runs to amp gauge, other side of amp gauge to battery. #2 wire on plug(on top alt.) wired to back lug on altenator. Wire from batt. to starter switch, and the other side of switch goes to starter. Here is the tricky part the #1 white wire on altenator goes nowhere and is hot(with a test light) when the welder is running, and not when its not running. The altenator is charging, but should I do something with that''field'' wire or just let it dangle? Help
