Very cool, great pics and I really like your web-site! Nice job of blending Green and Orange. Looks like that plow does a fine job, you got those moldboards shined right up!

Looks like you're catching on quick! I've worn out a few plows over the years and it's STILL the most fun thing to do on a tractor.

I have a quick question about plowing since I have never plowed either. Is their a rule of thumb on how big vs hp and is hp ptohp or engine hp? thanks

I use a 3-14 plow on a JD 5200 2-wd that is 45 hp (40 pto hp) and it pulls ok and I have heavy clay soils. If you stay around 15 pto hp per bottom or chisel plow shank, you should be okay depending on what kind of soil you are in.

Nice job, I like the straight furrows and REALLY clean/organized shop!!

You need more toys (tools), you have WAY too much room in the shop.

Looks GREAT!!

Here is an old farmer joke:

"What did the tractor say to the plow? Come closer, John Deere..."

Nice job on the plowing.

Looking good! I guess you've already figured this out, it's addictive!

Hey Kevin looks like you have that plowing business under control. And to think that Thundra could pull that trailer and plow home for you, wow.

Okay, why is that? I agree completely, but I don't understand it. I'm new to tractors (3 years) and even newer to plowing (1/2 year). I've got all the typical toys a weekend tractor warrior might have: FEL, rotary cutter, box blade, potato digger, disk etc. But, after finding a cheap used 2 bottom plow last fall, plowing is the most fun thing I've done. I don't understand the appeal, but it is very gratifying.

I wish I had more to plow.

I could not agree more! It's very satisfying...I'm getting to till it up with my new Baltic tiller. I hope that is as much fun!

In 20 odd years riding tractors I have never plowed. That's my loss because it looks to be such a blast.

About a million years ago, when I lived in the UK, I used to go watch horse drawn plowing (ploughing) competitions. That was just so much fun that it's undescribable. Maybe one of these days I can find a reason to go rip up some dirt.

Great photos, I love them

Plowing IS about the most fun you can have on a tractor! I think it's because it's a challenge to both man and machine, and when you get it figured out, when you can keep your furrows straight as an arrow, you become one with your machine.

The sound of the engine working hard, the smell of the freshly turned dirt, and the sight of long straight furrows is just something to behold. ;)
