I received some new numbers on the RTV900 today. Orange is $10500 less quail rebate of $250 bringing it to $10250, and the SE is $11300 less rebate of $250 for a price of $11050. It's getting real hard to put this off much longer. I want to put a bed liner in and a roof on it. I know I probably can do that for less than the $800 difference.

I've just gotta decide on the color and the general consensus here seems to be to go with what the wife likes (silver). As I stated in a previous post, I don't mind the color.

Does anyone know what the windshields cost?

How about anyone (I am sure someone has) who has made or put together their own windshield?

I think that the Kubota glass windshield is around $500ish. The plastic is probably half the cost of glass. The glass window is going to be my next purchase. These five in the morning feedings in blustery weather has made me realize the importance of having a front glass. The faster I drive, the faster I get inside...but there's a price.

I agree the windshield and roof would be important if you are in a cold weather area. Having the rest of the machine open would be nice when it is hot but it is amazing how much wind a front windshield cuts out of the operators station. The Roof and front window are definitely going to be bought at the same time I buy my UTV.

Rap, have you asked how much the regular RTV will cost with the roof and front windshield?

Also, for you guys who have roofs on your UTV's, which do you prefer and why, Metal or plastic? I would think the metal roofs would be better but wanted to hear from people with actual experience with them.

As for front windows, I would also think the glass would be better then a plastic option as the glass would be less likely to get scratched up.

From what I understand, you have to have the metal roof to have the glass windshield. I have both.
I know of several people who went the cheaper route, and all said that was a mistake.... Two out of the three, went later and replaced the plastic with the glass windshield. The third, traded upgraded to a RTV 1100 series unit.

The metal roof, the only way to go. It's solid as a rock. Looks more professional in my opinion ....

Glass & Frame installs really easy, I seen two installed >>>> Bottom of the glass kickes out when one wants it to ..... great investment , and yes, they run in the area of 500.00

Thanks TwoGuns, that is what I thought and is nice to hear from someone with experience.

I have never been a fan of windows that swing out but then my only experience is with a TN85FA with cab and the front window would swing out a little bit but since that tractor was a full cab it didn't really let much air in even with the back window open. Plus I didn't like the idea of the windows being open and all the shocks from the tractor get transfered to the hinges. I kept expecting the window to break from the shock loads when it was open so I closed them.

I've had both plastic and glass. The glass is much better.

I now have plastic but I remove mine in the summer.
Plastic scratches easily and is very difficult to see out of.

The tilting out option is a must unless you go with a full cab.
The windshield creates a vortex in the cab area and sucks dust in.
Tilting it out helps stop this and provides fresh air.. :)

I wonder if that is why some companies offer partial windshields, they help cut the wind but prevent the vortex that comes with one window. I know my dust sticks to the front windshield on the Curtis cab thats on my 1920. You get some on the outside but most of it is on the inside of the window, a nice work glove works great at knocking the dust off:D

You should check out Premier UV setup for windshields. They have a great setup including roof, dash extension, and windshield. Real nice and properly priced. Good Luck.

I made my own windshield out of lexan that i bought at Lowes Home Center. It works great. I have holes drilled about every 6"and tie wraps through the holes and around the rollcage.I have hauled the
rtv to New York state at speeds of 70 mph with no problems in the wind.It does scratch a little more than glass but was a whole lot cheaper. My neighbor has a glass windshield on his rtvand it cost him $600.00 I have less than $60.00and an hours worth of timein mine.

I'm new here.

I too had the glass - hated it - made too much noise!
I replaced it with a lexan and love it.

Larry;)
