This 45 hp tractor is new to the market and is an economy compact tractor. It looks to me that the battery is located under the floor where a lot of other tractors have their gas tanks. I didn't see the battery under the hood. Looks like it would be hard to access for dead battery starting. (opinion?) The transmission has a high and low range, Any idea on how this would affect workability? Such as high range for transportation and low is for creeping? Or would they try to gauge an average speed for each gear? Hydro stat is available which might solve this question. Most of the tractors have 16 gears compared to this ones 8. Other than these two questions, I think it will be a great tractor for my use of clearing forests and farming. I have 10 tree strewn acres in east texas with a slight slope to my property. Dealer is 1/2 hr away but doesn't seem to knowledgeable about his wares. I will have a talk with his mechanics first. My other option is Mahindra, which is an hour away. Sales folks are nice but don't always follow up with my questions (I have been talking with them for over a year now). Looking at the 2640. So if anyone has experience with 8 gear trannys and poor battery placement, please chime in

Those are so new they aren’t on the LS website yet. (LS really needs to step up their website game).
But it looks like a good honest economy tractor with quite a bit of power in a compact frame. If they are priced well below the economy JD and Kubota offerings, it think they will sell a ton of them.

Battery location wouldn’t be much concern to me. Other than putting some grease on the terminals when it was new, you shouldn’t have to touch the battery for several years.

The location of battery wouldn't stop me from buying this tractor. Only the price, which was quoted as $20,999.00 MSRP. I believe this is a killer price for a shuttle shift 45 hp tractor.

Still trying to research the speeds of the hi and low ranges. Its probably not going to be a game changer since older tractors had this gear arrangement and they had good reputations for pulling

and the sad thing is, the website is the easiest part... I know this because its part of what I do for a living...

on a side note for anyone looking. Someone has some info on them and uploaded the spec sheet. Still haven't seen a price.

Looks like there is an MT3 and MT5 (73HP) series, but no information about either of them yet on anybody's site.

I test drove the MT345e today with shuttle shift and it was pretty good. The speeds for low and hi gear are acceptable. The bucket will tilt while raising and lowering but not real fast. The bucket will freefall that last few inches when lowering while still in the air, causing a jerking action to the tractor. The seat is hard, definitely a budget seat. For the price, this tractor is well worth it (20K)

Most LS models have had LS engines for a few years now.
I think the MT 125 is the last model that doesn’t.

People often say they like Kubota because they make the entire machine vs others that are just an assemblage of off the shelf parts from different manufacturers. Guess what, LS does too. They really are following in Kubota’s footsteps.
