Well --- as everyone may know....I looked at Kubota, Mahindras, MF and others. The MF by far gives me the most bang for the buck and the dealer is great.

To be honest, I went into buying a tractor looking at a GC3200 and RFM and after talking to the dealer he gave me a price on a 1528 that I just could not turn down. The TOTAL price for the MF1528 plus a 5' MF RFM was $13,050. That included tax, setup, delivery, and everything. That price was only $2500 more than the GC2300 I was going to get and I decided that the extra 5HP and "bigger" tractor was worth the money. Here are some pics:

The dealer has been wonderful to work with and I have already put 13 hours on it since it was delivered last Friday (had 3-4 acres to mow and some logs to skid).

Now I am looking around for a "gently used" rotary cutter/bush hog /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

THANK YOU everyone for your input and posts as I have learned A LOT from this forum. I look foward to reading more/posting more.

Looks great!

Your story is like mine. We were going to get the small tractor as well, then we looked at the 28 and then the wife got on the 33, she liked the 33 more then the 28, but never has driven it here after we got it. Oh well, to bad for me /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif .

I tried and tried to get her to like the "looks" of the turbo under the hood on the 1540, but all she said was "We came here for the 2300, do you want the 2300 or the 1533", well I have the 1533 /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif .

Have fun with your new tractor!

Congratulations on your new tractor! That is a good price. The cheapest that I found for a 1528 here without any implements was $13,300.

Mark4jesus,

You are in TN so aren't too far away from central AL. From what I can tell Gene Martin Tractors (in Jemison, AL) sells tractors all day long at that type of discount. They make their profit off selling lots of tractors with a little mark up instead of the other way around. The day I bought my tractor a guy was there from central Florida (10 hour drive or so) buying a tractor. I was lucky....I am only 25 miles or so away!!
