mahindra 3540pst
From argyll in Lockport,NY. Just purchased a 2015 3540pst. Trying to find out why the intake manifold heater light will not stay on. Tested the 60amp fuse and 1 inch square relay ,[no timer built in relay] and they tested good. wiring diagram does not show another relay in the circuit. Do they rely on the thermostat on the heater coil as the timer? Should I check the heater coil itself? Ordred a service and parts manual, but thought I would ask the forum to get a jump start on fixing it.

Why do you think it's broken? The intake heater should only come on when it's cold. Not sure if it's an external temp sensor or if it uses the thermostat, but either way - with the spring weather it shouldn't need it, and won't turn it on. Just checked mine, and the light will come on as part of the dash self-check, but goes off immediately after. It's 47 degrees here, it works correctly when it gets colder.

from Argyll, Thanks so much for the information. Makes sense. May be worrying about nothing. Very pleased with the tractor.

On my tractors, when the light goes off, its ready to crank.
I always use the heaters to crank after the engines have cooled down or cold from sitting.
