Cub Cadet Z-Force 60
Hey Guys,
I just found this forum, and hope I've found a place that can help me with some of the modifications I'd like o do to my Cub Cadet mower. I know, from being apart of other forums, that asking the repetitive questions that everyone asks is annoying and wastes time.

So, first thing I'll ask is if there is a section or a thread that has addressed adding lights to a Cub Cadet Z-Force 60, or similar mower. If there isn't a thread or other websites that can be suggested, has anyone added lights to a mower similar to mine?

I'm not sure if new members are required to introduce themselves, if so, just let me know.

Adding lights to my mower is something I've wanted to do for a very long time, but since this summer has be so incredibly hot and having the time to cut grass has been limited, cutting at night would be both cooler and also allow me to spend my time doing what I'd rather be doing...making KNIVES!

Thanks for any and all help y'all can send my way, looking forward to getting to know you guys and hopefully learning how to do somethings I've wanted to do to my Cub, to make several improvements to it. Thanks again, Rex

It depends on how much power your charging system puts out. I would get a "LED Offroad Driving light" kit from your local auto parts store and use that kit to install the lights as LED lights will use less power than halogens and will be less likely to toast your charging system.

Well, That just shows what I didn't find looking at Cub's web site and looking through my owners manual, and several internet searches, I never found any light kits made for my mower by Cub.

The bigger question no matter which kit is where to put the lights? There is no "roll bar" or ROPs type bar over the seat which is where most other mowers put theirs, as it is a good place to put them. I have looked at the corners of the front bar that the wheels are attached to, the only good reason is because they are leading the way the mower is going, the bad reasons are too many to list, but the best reason not to, is that they would most likely get knocked off. I have picked up a light kit from Harbor freight, they have a hard plastic outer case and all (hopefully) the wiring I'll need. There are 2 holes on the frame located on the sides by the motor as well as 2 more holes located on the back of the frame directly behind the muffler. I'm a decent fabricator....let's just say when I build it, it's over built, I'm primarily self taught on all of my skills, I can weld well enough to keep the pieces stuck together, it won't be the prettiest weld, but it usually works.

Thanks for the info, I will look into the ones you mentioned, even though I have bought some (actually, the wife did it) already. I appreciate the effort, Rex
I'm thinking of using the holes that are on the sides of the frame at the sides of the motor. There is only a single hole all the way through the frame, which will leave me drilling another hole, 1 aint enough for me. I can't bend the square tubing I have, but I could weld the top side of an "A" frame, mount the lights up there....maybe?
