I've owned my Mahindra (6500) for about 4 years. This is the 2'nd time I've had a winter freeze up (if that is the actual problem) of the hydraulics. The manual does not say where the hydraulic fluid drain is, and the last time I had a real mess letting the fluid drain while removing the filter. This time, I ran a query on the computer, and a thread came up with the same question. I signed up and read the response from a dealer. Crappy solution, but at least I found I wasn't alone with this issue. I may start a new thread asking if anyone has a better solution than the one posted. Great to find a resource like this. --- joe

While I cannot "speak to" the oil on a Mahindra 6500; I have punctured small "drain-out" holes in many oil filters as a preliminary step to removing them. If done properly (a rag over the clean drip container as a filter), the oil can be reused.

A notch can be added to the point of the puncture tool so it hangs inside the hole; this creates a path for the oil to follow (like the downspout chains) towards the drip container.

The hydraulic drain is on the rear of the tractor, about 10 inches directly below the hyd. fill plug. If your tractor has a loader on it, the hydraulic return line will be attached to it, so just follow the line to the loader valve, disconnect the line from the loader valve, and let it drain into a bucket. I hope this helps.
