John Deere 4100 Compact series
I appreciate any information and help anyone wishes to share.
I am a 72 year old disabled vet who has just been diagnosed with incurable lung disease. Dr. says to stay indoors, and rest. Ya, like that is going to happen!
Yesterday, I was on my tractor going to use loader bucket to move my flat bed trailer and power steering got real hard to turn and then a lot of oil leaked out. Not sure if it might be a seal or something much worse. My son-in-law says he will fix it when he gets time, I am just trying to make sure we go in the right direction.

Again, appreciate any and all help.

Jack

Welcome and thank-you for your service. Sorry to read your lung issue.

Oil leaked out of where?

Get the service tech manual to help your SIL diagnose and track down the problem, and then hopefully fix it.

Where is the hydraulic oil leaking from? Up front by the cylinder or possibly right below the steering wheel? First thing is to find out where the oil is coming from than can start to pinpoint the problem.
