Massey Ferguson GC2300
Hello from Billerica, MA. Early last summer my father in law (dairy farmer from PA) saw two Massey Ferguson GC2300s at an auction, and we made a deal for both of them. One got transported to my home in Billerica, with 1 acre of land that I am slowly developing. It came with a 54" mower deck and a GC2350 Loader.

I used it for some mowing, stump pulling, and brush moving in the summer and then turned it for snow removal in the last few weeks when my ATV with small plow stopping running. I have had some really odd and intermittent starting issues, and recently saw an oil leak from the Loader Control Valve. I will post more about them in the MF Owners Forum.

To the forum from Alabama. Has your father-in-law had any trouble with his tractor?

No he hasn't. And I'm starting to realize my starting issues are probably typical cold weather challenges. She started on the second try last night at about 10deg F using only the glow plugs.

I was wondering if he kept the good one and passed the problem child on to you? Naw...I guess not?

Welcome to the forum!

When I got mine, I found a loose fitting under the plastic FEL control cover; just tightened it up. It still has a very small leak, but I don't worry about it. The plastic cover, after taking it on & off several times, now just stays off. Easier to keep an eye on things that way.

Starting these little diesels can be a challenge, with a steep learning curve. If you were able to get it going @ +10F with just the glow plugs, it sounds like you've got it figured out.

These are great little tractors!
