I live in New England and just purchased a beautiful 1995 JD 445 with 58 hrs that was in storage. I followed this forum as a guest to get insight on pros & cons of different tractors. As I go forward I believe i will have many questions, and the membership here is very knowledgable, so here is the first question.
The 445 also came with a single stage snowthrower. What are the advantages of changing the auger sproket to 36 or 34 teeth? Would not the factory higher tooth count produce a faster auger roration? Is it to increase power?
Thank you in advance to any responses.
