New Mahindra 2555

Just purchased a new Mahindra 2555, this will be my first tractor. Chose this one over a Kubota MX5200. Anyone with this model that can make me feel good about my choice?

I purchased a 2555 a year ago and have had zero problems to date in 75 hours. The loader is very strong and it has handled everything I have thrown at it. You made a good choice!

After shopping around, comparing all makes and models, I ended up buying a 2555HST in September 2015. Aside from the MIL light coming on a couple times (from running the engine RPMs too low for too long) no complaints. It's a powerful piece of equipment and the loader's capabilities will surprise you. When I ordered my tractor, I also ordered the Mahindra Service and Parts manuals for my tractor. I don't know how mechanically inclined you are, but you may want to think about getting the set yourself. They're not what I would call "well written", but they can get you out of a jam. Just a suggestion.

I think you made a good choice (I considered Kubota too). I'm sure you'll be satisfied.

But, sometimes, it might be better in the long run that he/she would not have shown up... but I am with you on the manual....

Hello everyone - I also just purchased a Mahindra 2555 Hst. Was delivered on 3/8/17. Got it equipped as follows: Open station, Loader, 75B backhoe with thumb, WR Long 3rd function, loaded rear tires, 6' HD box blade. I already had a Tomahawk 66" grapple and set of pallet forks which was result of attending a Ritchie Bros. auction and getting caught up in the moment. Have already used the grapple a few times - clearing out brush piles that have accumulated over the years. Shortly after making use of the grapple - we got appx. 18" of snow here in Southern NH and am shut out of the woods for a little while. So far - very pleased with my new tool!

Contratulations. I got my 2555 HST at the end of July last year. You made a good choice. It's a great tractor. It too was my first tractor. My first use was mowing with a 7 foot finish mower from EA. Great mower. Even though it is rated 40-60 pto hp, I learned that the belts start squealling way before the tractor bogs down. I've gotten a lot of use out of my pallet forks including carrying my 12 foot roll up door from the road to the barn. I've started flattening my pasture with a 6 foot tiller. There is a ton of stuff to learn. Do a lot of reading here. It has kept me out of trouble. I managed to cut a road down a steep hill (slanting in two directions) with the box blade and loader. It got a bit squirrelly but I got it done safely. It's a beast and a very capable machine. Enjoy!

Agree 100%! I have factory service manuals for every vehicle and piece of equipment I own. Personally, I wouldn't be without one. Some people may feel differently for whatever reason.

People may balk at the initial price (my tractor manual costs $95). it has already saved me 6 times that price and eventually, the cost of being married. (that'll never happen) Every single one I've ever bought has been worth their weight in gold.

Wait a minute here. The date on the pics are from 11-24-2024???? How long was I asleep. Nice tractor, enjoy. 18 inches of snow will not stop that tractor from playing in the woods. I assume you are picking up debris off the ground tho

Sorry about the date on the pics - I'll have to fix that on my digital camera. You are correct in assuming I'm picking up downed branches, etc. which are still buried by snow.

good luck with it. I have done a lot of research on various makes etc. and I too like the 2555. I will be purchasing one soon too.
