Just today, I received my first issue of a new publication from New Holland called "Acres". Instead of the traditional NH magazine I have received fro over a year since buying my tractor, this one appears to be devoted to folks who use CUTS for country living rather than hard core framing. My guess is they selected who is to receive it by the type of tractor they purchased.

At any rate, I think it will be a success! It sure was neat to read articles that are of interest to most of the TBN folks instead of about balers and massive farm tractors. I'm sure that those who have those tractors will continue to get the traditional magazine.

It shows me that New Holland is paying attention to who is buying their compacts, they NH considers these users to be important, and that they understand how the tractors are being used. Good for them!

I really enjoyed and I'm looking forward to the next edition already. The other day while I was at Kroger I found a London broil. Can't wait to try that recipe for the Southwest London Broil in the back. Sounds MMMMM....Good.

BTW, welcome back Don. Hope all goes well with Ivan and your health problems. Didn't realize how serious /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif it was until I read your recape have Francis.

Strange, I'm receiving the regular New Holland magazine but not Acres. I would think my TC-40D would qualify me to get it. Who knows maybe us Ohio folks are excluded. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Hi Don, it's great to see you're back. This is the first post I've seen from you since Frances. Glad you are back and I hope you escaped most damage. I've been pointing out Port St. Lucie on the map to several friends and they all just shake their heads. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I got Acres magazine today also. Like Jim, I thought the recipes sounded pretty darn good. I also like the cover story and how those folks coexist with deer and turkeys. I can't look at that kind of place without thinking of how much work it is. I'm not sure I have that many hours to devote, but it does give me motivation to build a few more ponds of my own.

I think I'll like the magazine, too. PineRidge, you shouldn't be excluded. I bet a copy shows up in your mailbox soon. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I bought my tractor from the same dealer you did, and I always received the New Holland News, until the premier edition of "Acres" magazine was sent to me a couple weeks ago. It's more of a "using your CUT for country living" type magazine, rather than devoted to farming only.

Guess I better make sure the "better half" doesn't think it's junk mail and pitch it out with the trash.

Andy did you know Steve has now purchased the dealership?

Sound Guy;
Sign up for a third tractor... and make it a condition of the service agreement. OR maybe it got lost in the big wind! It is like getting all the pretty color stock folders from the investment firm. Can't they just put the quality in the product rather than spending the profits in photos and stamps?

Well here is the scoup on New Hollan magazines. The dealer pays for these. The dealer must have a minimum of 200 customers he wants to send them to in order to participate in the magazine program. So if you where to hold this over the dealers head on the next deal and he does not participate in the program you are not likely to get the magazine sorry to say!

Actually, my wife read the New Holland News too (the one geared towards farming) when we received that one. The new one aimed at country living in general is pretty good reading too.

Yes, I did know that. I've been doing my NH business at a different dealer now, however. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
That's a story for another day though... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
