New LS 240HE Options for Remote Valve Detent

I've had my MT125 for a year and logged close to 150 hours. I'm trading it in for a MT240HE with a backhoe. There are a few options:

Remote Valve- 1 pair (2 outlets) or 2 pair (4 outlets)
Detent Kit

I think the dealer wanted 1k for the remote valves. What implements could I use the remote valve for. How is the remote valve different than a detent?

A detent valve is intended to be used as a supply source. It supplies fluid to a backhoe, log splitter as examples. Any implement that has it's own control valve-s on the implement. While a detent valve can be used as a cylinder control valve, it is a PITA vs simply letting go of the control lever and the valve springs back to center in the closed position like it does with a spring return to center type valve.

3pt hitch Top & tilt cylinders. Very desirable for all grading implements.

A rear blade with an angle cylinder.

A snow blower with hydraulic chute angle and direction.

The list goes on & on.

I personally would get both spring return to center valves and use something to hold the valve open if the need was there.

You do not need to worry about that because your tractor is already set up with a power beyond loop for any of those implements that would need a detent control valve to feed them.
