You're not kidding about making it look good! This week, I rotary cut an acre yard that was never mowed this year. The yard was yet another victim of the current recession and was left by the previous owners. I went over and knocked it down just to keep the neighborhood looking good. I am not so sure I accomplished that as the grass really clumped up and still looks terrible.
I would like to see some pictures of how well the flail works on a well taken care of yard, it just might be the ticket instead of a finish mower considering how well it does with the overgrown stuff.
Yeah, my lawn was tall, but it can't be seen from the road or by my neighbors. My bush hog finish mower went south and I was waiting for the right tool. I was planning on getting a finish mower for weekly maintenance, but this thing was so impressive that I will be using it as my finish mower. I was also surprised that the tracks did not mark the turf, even when I turned. I suspect my 20" tracks helped.
