My family, wife and two sons, bought 47 acres about a year and half ago. We lived about 5 minutes from the property and were on it nearly everyday we could. It is a mix of rolling hills and woods with two ponds (less than an acre) full of fish, a small hunting cabin and a 24x40 pole barn. My neighbor and his son run cattle and they keep the majority of it cut and maintained for us. Back in November we sold our house and bought a small house with 8 acres that joins our current 47. Before moving we were able to finish cut around the building and ponds with a regular regular GT lawn mower. Now with the new house we have about a 1/4 mile of gravel drive to maintain plus more to mow so that is the reason for the purchase of our 1998 Ford New Holland 1630. As far as implements, I have a 6' finish mower and a box blade.
I am an accountant by trade and my dad is lifetime mechanic-car and heavy equipment. He worked in the coal mines for about 20 years. I tell people that makes me dangerous as I think I know what I am doing
mechanically because of my dad. My dad has always loved drag racing, he has done it since he was first able to drive and I am not far behind. He and I have just finished building our first drag car together. We are actually more of test and tuners than racers. Below is a link, we are the orange duster near lane.
