Hi All, in a post I made a while back when I was deciding between a MX6000 cab and the Grand L. I decided to go with the Grand L 6060 and finally just took delivery. I have a few questions nothing major I was hoping to get some input on.

Here is the link to that post if anyone wants to see it by the way
MX vs Grand L

So they delivered the tractor at no charge which was nice, the guy was very friendly, but spent all of about 10 minutes going over the tractor, of that all on the regen stuff, when I asked some questions he seemed like I was putting him out so I let it be, I understand how to operate this tractor with no issue, but I do have a few questions.

What all should be included in the delivery, I have 5 booklets, the owners manual, the cab model suppliment, the installation manual when they assemble it, one on the loader and a flyer on the display. Thats all I got. I asked him if I should have the Cat 2 to cat 1 bushings and he said no, but then finally said he would order me a set. What else should there have been? maybe nothing.

With KTAC, is pickup and delivery included? He told me no, but I just wanted to verify my dealer is 20 minutes away.View attachment IMG_5341.jpg

Shifting from L-M-H is super tough on level ground, even rocking the pedal forward / reverse sometimes helps, it has always gone into gear eventually but it is tough. I understand I can use the AUTO mode and do, but I was a little concerned on how tough it is.

Shifting into 4x4 is also very tough at times, sometimes it is effortless, othertimes forget it. Maybe normal for a new tractor like this?

Who makes the best guard for the third function lines under the tractor, I am in the woods mostly and that seems like an easy spot to get damaged.

Last thing is it has the L2265 third function kit installed, has a cheesy looking hose clamp that holds on the switch to activate it. is that correct?

Thats about it, the tractor is a beast, and have about 10 hours on it so far and love it.

It takes a little bit to get use to the shifting of ranges. I do not recall a grease fitting on the linkages. They will loosen with time / experience.

Yep, thats normal for the 60 series. Why they have such a dumb cheezy hose clamp holding it on is beyond me. Hope they put the designer on a personal improvement plan for the lack of aesthetics.

I would first rerout the hoses. If you put a 45° on the ends you can get them to tuck up out of the way much better.

Specialty Repairs makes a few hydraulic hose protectors for under the tractor and the side.

511 also makes one for under the tractor

I would consider grill guard inserts as well. The folks listed above make them as well as the ones below.

If you wanted to go crazy and really protect the cab.

Be careful in the woods. The kubota roofs are damn crazy thin and do not hold up to branches well. Love the tractor, hate the roof.

Sounds like you received everything. Should have the toplink also. I would have to see the 3rd function switch, mine was a rocker switch integrated into the loader handle, with the power switch in the plastic below the fel control.
As far as shielding, I bought a nice 3rd function hose shield from "Specialty Repairs" in Canada. His www site says he's retiring, and to order while you still can. He makes quality stuff.

awesome info, thanks for this. i will check this stuff out. I do have a grill guard insert on it, I just bought the one that messicks sells but it seems to be a nice insert and not crazy expensive. I thought with grapple use it was a must have.

Yes toplink was there. my loader control sounds exactly the same, when my wife came out to see the new tractor that was the first comment, why is there a cheesy looking hose clamp over there. Ha! I will will check out the shield for sure. I think I have seen his you tube videos on the steps a while back.

The rocker is OEM, and I believe the power switch is left up to the dealer (?). In any case, my installation does not use a house clamp... The power switch is mounted in a plastic panel below the fel control lever.

Shifting the L6060 will get easier with use. It can be made easier by using the FEL to lift the front of the tractor off the ground slightly. Especially true with the 4WD lever.

I also received 5 manuals and a set of cat1 to cat2 adapters.

The switch for my W&R Long 3rd function valve is molded into the handle and the wiring held to the shaft with heat shrink tubing. Nice neat install. The valve on my MX5800 uses the same crude hose clamp you describe.

that sounds nicer, maybe I can see about moving this one or 3D print a holder for it
