Hello all. Glad I found this place. I will be purchasing a new 4701 this week. It will be my second Kubota but my first tractor in over 9 years. I am getting the FEL and a 72" box scraper. I am considering the bh92 backhoe, however I have a few concerns maybe some of you can answer.

I am a large man 6'4" 280lbs. Will I fit comfortable on the backhoe and be able to operate it for a few hours without problems. Secondly is this a good backhoe? I will be ditching, digging stumps, planting trees etc. Speed is my least concern power and durability are highest.

Thank you in advance for any of you thoughts...

Hi Sactobill, the bh92 platform is tight i am 6,3 250 and you may have to alter the seat to make it more comfortable .
It is a very good backhoe it should do all the task you have mentioned.

I agree on the platform, I am 5'8" 150 lbs and it feels "just big enough" when sitting and really pretty tight getting on/off. The backhoe works well, you'd have no problem for the tasks you mention. Any place near you that you could try one, or at least sit on one?

Thank you for the replies. The dealer is supposed to have one setup on another customers tractor today. he said I could come by and sit in it. So hopefully I will have a better idea today.

If a backhoe attachment is moved further back for more operator room, there's more overhung rear weight and reduced FEL down force. So its a compromise. TLB's solve it using one pivoting seat. My Bradco is tight but it works. Head room is limited if over 6'. Hope the situation works out for you.

Thank you all. I forgot about the canopy, I did order the fiberglass one. I went to the dealer today and I fit on the backhoe. So I will order it. My tractor was in, looked so purty. Hopefully will get it delivered in a week or so.

I think you will be very happy with the BH92. I love mine and while the platform is tight (I'm 6'2") the controls are at a comfortable location and once seated I can stretch my legs out.

I'm looking at the L4701 also but haven't seen one in person yet. I read a review that said it was a larger tractor than the two others in the 2014 standard L line. How does the size of the L4701 compare in size to the L60 Grand or M series? Thanks!
