Tractor
Kubota L3540
I have had a BX 25 for 3 years now and apsolutely loved it but wanted a cab for comfort. After reading hours of threads of information on tractors I upgraded 3 times prior to making my final decision over a 30 day period, my dealer was great to put up with me, he actually ordered 2 backhoes for me during this period for the other tractors I was going to buy and did not charge me a restocking fee. I started with an upgrade to the B3240 with Curtis Cab, than to the B3000 with a Factory cab and than finally to the L3540. Which is apsolutely overkill for my small properties but appears to be what I have read one of the more stable tractors especially if you have the wheels extended out and tires filled , my property is very hilly. I have not ordered the snowblower as yet, I am told that these will be discounted by Kubota in the fall. Not sure what to go with, think I would like the front but hard to justify the price difference. Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated in helping me make my snowblower choice, what are the prices for some of these options?

Heres what I have ordered:

L3540 with Factory Cab
LA724 FEL with 72" Heavy Duty Bucket with edge protector
Hook welded to bucket center and at the loader arms and a 2 inch receiver welded to center top of bucket
Backhoe
R3 tires filled (having rims setup to maximun width, this will increase width by 4 inches)

Thanks for everyones help,

Bill

Congrats, I have the same tractor but without the cab, also have the Kubota L2674" rear snow blower. It has hyd chute turner, and is the package for all the snow we get here in upstate N.Y. Did you order and rear remotes to run hyd's from tractor? You did not fill out your profile so Don't know where you live.

Hey DevilDog, I live in Fredericton, NB, Canada, I think the L3540 comes complete with enough rear remotes to run the rear snowblower if I am not mistaken. I would love to get the front end blower just have not researched the pricing as yet.

Billhall,

Back in Jan. I put a L2185 (72") front mount snow blower on my L3130 and would never want to go back to using a 3pt rear blower again. I bought it used and it came with hydraulic chute rotation and the electric deflector. They are expensive options, but since they came with the setup I certainly do like them. When it is all said and done the cost is approximately $7,000 to install a new one. I have been very pleased with mine and glad I went for the 72" blower versus the 64" the dealer recommended. It is definitely commercial grade in every aspect.

Bill, the Grand L series tractors do not come with any rear remotes as a standard feature. You add them one at a time to a maximum of three. Philip.

Bill, Be on the lookout for a used Kubota front mount snow blower. E-bay, Craigs list, etc. I looked long and for a used LA724 FEL for my L3940. Finally found a used one with QA and HD bucket at Barlows for nearly 50% less than new from my local dealer. We dont get as much snow as you, but I have been happy with my front blade. The front blade and snow blower take the same sub-frame mount. You will also have to add mid pto for the snow blower. The pic of the snow blower is someone else's, not mine. Philip.

Congrats. I'm not sure about a discount in the fall but I do know that if you go with the front mount blower you are better off not waiting, I've heard of dealers not being able to get them in the fall as they've sold out all of the stock they had made up. It may feel big now but you'll quickly get use to the size and it'll fit you like a glove. If your driveway is straight and you do go with a rear blower then things get much easier since theres plenty of companies to choose from.

I had both blowers and it took more cash, but I am very happy and my neck thanks me for the front mounted blower. My dealer also said I could only get the 5 footer, but after doing some research I knew the 6 footer would work better. I am glad I got the bigger one. Tractor has plenty of grunt except for the bottomless snow days.
