First let me say thanks to all who gave suggestions all over this board. Also, let me say thanks for this board and the wealth of information. My question is is it ok to bushhog, I mean alot of bushhogging with the front end loader attached. I do lock it in place. I bought a MX 5000 with loader and a Bush Hog 3008 8' pull cutter. I use the loader as my front weight.

Hello and congratulations on your new tractor! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I don't see why not. Many people will leave the FEL on and keep it as low as they can to run "interference" for hidden obstacles like stumps, old car engines, or whatever.

It does diminish your manuverabilty around obstacles such as trees, fences, or buildings. But as long as you keep that in mind, it shouldn't be any problem.

Of course, we'd really like to see some pictures of you bushhogging with that loader on the shiny, new MX5000! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Lots of folks brush hog with the FEL on the tractor. Less maneuverability, poorer visibility, rougher ride are only things that affect you; won't bother the tractor at all. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
