Since tomorrow is a holiday and my dealer will be closed I thought I'd ask here. My tractor has less than 20 hours but it maybe a simple fix.

I had used the loader the last couple weeks to move 5x5 round hay bales and everything seemed fine however the only thing I was doing was moving/ stacking bales.

Today while digging a hole to bury a dead calf I noticed the loader not performing as it should. It had also done the same thing a couple weeks ago when digging a hole but I dismissed it as me not being familiar with it.

When lifting a load of dirt it acts like it doesn't want to lift it or it lifts very slow regardless of the engine rpms. It doesn't sound like the relief valve is opening either. Another thing, with the bucket sitting flat on the ground and I engage the dump, it doesn't have enough power to raise the front of the tractor. It tries but it's very very slow.

I've already checked to be sure the correct color hoses matched where they coupled together and I also disconnected and reconnected the couplers at the valve. No help.

My 25+ year old Kubota L3600 /loader has never had an issue like this.

Any thoughts of what to check?

Had a similar problem recently. Turned out it was the controls / linkages for the FEL were not properly adjusted or installed and they had shifted after I had a some other work done to the tractor. I could have full rpm and move the controls to the FEL and they operated SLOW. The lack of proper adjustment did not allow the controls on the FEL to fully open and close.

Wild possibility here but I had a problem with my M135 loader after a shop visit. They got the 3 point out of calibration so it was using most of the flow dumping it over relief so very little available for loader lift. Moved 3 point down for some reason and all of a sudden loader started working right. Calibrated 3 point so valve would shut off before reaching its top limit and all was well.

What hydraulic equipment do you have besides the power steering, FEL and 3 pt? A grapple, top and tilt?

A rear remote valve not returned to the center or neutral position will cause lack of pressure.

It has a dealer installed 3rd function for use with a grapple and 1 factory rear remote. That's it. Neither one has had anything hooked to them yet.

My new at the time L4060 had problems doing anything. Turned out I lifted the 3pt all the way up after unloading it. The feedback rod wasn't properly adjusted & that gummed up the works.

I tried positioning the 3 point in different locations and the dump mode would actually lift the front of the tractor when the 3 point was in the mid position. Problem is, I don't know how to remedy the problem.

If you’re in Cherryville your selling dealer is probably not too far away. It’s a warranty issue, let them fix it. Till then, run the hitch a little less than full up.

You may already have got it fixed. My M135 had an electrical feedback through its computer so it involved running a calibration program. My L6060, however, has a feedback linkage from a top 3 point arm. I identified this link and adjusted it until I could hear the hydraulic pump start to whine that it was going over relief. I believe the instructions say to then back off one turn and lock the link in place. I believe your tractor is similar to the L6060 in this regard. My problem with the L6060 would not raise 3 point implements as high as the L5740 I traded in. My L6060 was badly out of adjustment as it turned out. Going to my dealer - time plus they are the one who screwed up the tractors in the first place. I feel better knowing what wrong and what is needed to fix it - until I fix something and have important looking parts left over.

I agree with making this a dealer problem. Have them come to you even if it costs more. Having the mechanic in front of you as he works on it will give you a chance to ask questions you could never get to ask in the dealer's shop. The more knowledge you can gain will prove invaluable in the years ahead.

This page from the M7040 WSM may or may not be like yours as far as position control happens.
