new Kubota l4600 needs a trailer

I recently bought a new2013 l4600 with a la764 loader and a few attachments. I need to find a trailer for it. I have my eye on a 18' deckover trailer with 2 5200lb axles with 8' slide in ramps. But I need to know if a deckover will be to high to safely load my tractor. I can order the same trailer in a 20' length if an 18' isnt long enough. I really want the deckover so that I can sideload anything without hitting the wheelwells.

My vehicle is a 2011 ram 2500 with a 10000lb, class iv receiver hitch so I dont see a need for 2 7000lb axles.

I haul a Kubota L3800 on a 20ft trailer with a 60" Bush hog on the back, and it gets pretty tight at times. If you are just hauling the tractor, you should be fine. However if you are moving it with implements...

As far as the weight goes, I have a 10k gvwr and it does fine. Not sure what the weight difference is especially if you fill the tires.

I forgot to say I do have an FEL on the tractor as well and it takes up plenty of space.

First off, welcome!

Second, you may want to see if a moderator can move this to the Trailering/Transportation section to get more replies.

I think 18 feet is going to be very tight if you plan to bring an implement with you, and not possible with some...and you will be limited in fore/aft adjustment of position to get the tongue weight correct.

Congrats on the new tractor!

I have a 20 foot, 5200 pound dual axle equipment trailer with fold down spring loaded ramps. Like you, my truck can bumper pull around 10,000 pounds as well. Originally, I was going to go with a car hauler trailer with slide in ramps. However, there are advantages to going with the fold down ramps. Of course, there are disadvantages as well, as they are always present. But, the fold down ones are much easier to use, and also have built in supports that contact the ground to add stability and structural balance to the trailer loading and unloading. Just something to consider.

Someday in the future, I'd like to possibly upgrade to a higher capacity gooseneck trailer, should the need arise. But for now I think this one I have is a nice compromise.

I haul all kinds of stuff on my 20' deckover... from my JD 3005 @ about 4500 lbs to my buddys Kubota L4310 with loader, cab. As well as the van shown after cut up and combined with another van to haul for junk, not to mention the dually F350 in the backround.

Point is... a trailer that's more than heavy enough is better than almost overloaded everytime you use it. Weight wise, I could haul 2 of my tractors on my trailer... but it gets used for a lot more than just my tractor. Yours might too.

Weight wise you are fine.
Deck over is also fine.

But length, 18 is too small. 20' would be minimum IMO. If you ever plan on longer implements like a 6' bushhog, I'd.go even longer.

Thanks guys for all the responses. Ill probably put an order in for the 20ft deckover next month. Ill be using this trailer to haul my tractor, loads of building supplies, water in totes for watering new trees, maybe my old project truck. Etc...

On a side note this forum is a wealth of knowledge. I spent countless hours reading up on the various models of tractors I was researching on before buying my new kubota. I didnt need it right away but I didnt want to buy a new model next year with more emissions equipment.
