Kubota L2800HST
Took delivery of a new L2800HST with FEL today, pretty nice little toy. Now theres no excuse for not gettin the work done around here.
Had to do a little diggin and get rid of a couple of stumps, nothing big, then hooked up the Bush hog and made a few laps.
The only problem I'm havin is forgetting to release the Park brake, only did it about 3 times, puts quite a strain on the little engine.... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Lookin forward to having time to put this thing to the test.

Later.............KC

Congrats on your new tractor, the 2800/3400 HST seem to be selling quite well here lately.

Don't worry about the parking brake I still do it on occation. /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Welcome to the forum KC. Yeah...the parking brake thing...we've all done it! /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif After 3 months I'm getting better about it. One of these days I'm going to install a light or alarm of some type to wake my tired ol' brain up when I turn the key and the brakes on. I'm thinking of a proximity switch to detect the position of the lever which would then flash an LED on the dash and turn on a 'son-alert' type alarm like the ones that you hear when equipment is put in reverse. Come to think of it, I could detect the shuttle reverse too and add that into the circuit! Ahhh...so many ideas...so little time. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif If I ever do get around to doing this...I'm thinking it would be a good project on a cold winter day...I'll publish the circuit diagram and post pictures in another thread.

Try to give her a little breathing room on the major projects until it's got a few hours on it. There's lots of opinoins and comments on break-in. I'd read a few.....Browse the "Safety" discussion group if you have a few mintues too.

Enjoy it and trust you instincts when you're doing something you think you shouldn't be.

You're not the only one who has trouble with the Kubota parking brake. I've stopped using mine.

I have a B7510HST with LA302 FEL and park it in a garage with a concrete floor. I leave it in gear when parking and lift the front end an inch or so with the FEL. Also lower the box blade onto the garage floor. Don't think it will be going anywhere unless we have a big shaker here in the North Valley (unlikely).

I also kept leaving the parking brake engaged and wondering why the hydro was straining so hard to move the tractor. So I gave up on the parking brake for most situations. I now use the FEL as my parking brake. It's a lot harder to notice you haven't raised the loader before you take off instead of trying to remember to check the parking brake.

When you forget the parking brake you know it in less than a second. With the loader down you'll peel off some grass or mess up your drive. I'd use the park brake, forgetting it doesn't hurt anything.
