Anyone know how to disable the RIO on the new JD X320. Just bought one and would like to disable it.

Do some research and you can figure it out. If can't figure it out, then probably should not, IMO, have it disconnected. Mine is disconnected, and its a simple matter of tracing down the linkage that shuts the deck off when the reverse pedal is depressed.
Up to you then to shoulder the responsibility if someone backs over a child with the mower deck running. I don't mow with anyone else around. But obviously some people do, or don't pay attention.
Good luck.

So, You have yours disconnected but I should'nt disconnect mine? why, are you the only person in the world that is smart enough to look behind before you back up? I don't mow with others around either and I'm sure my 11 yr old is smart enough not to lay down behind me when I'm mowing around a tree. I am the only one that mows my lawn and I don't loan out my mower.
I thought posting on this board would be a part of the research you refer to but I guess I was wrong.
There is no linkage, There is no push button to jump. The new X series has the PIO integrated with the PTO switch. Pull up to engage PTO and then pull up again for PIO.

Didn't mean to imply that at all.
But I did mean to say "if one isn't knowledgable and mechanically inclined enough to figure it out, then in my opinion, he shouldn't have it disconnected".

From your post, you shouldn't disconnect yours. I traced the mechanical linkage back and adjusted the switch so it didn't activate when pressing the reverse pedal. Yours isn't any different. If you mess with the PTO switch, you will mess up a lot of other things as well. Now, go figure and getRdun.

Sorry I made you feel this way, but I'm not upset with your response. Just I will not tell you how to 'exactly' do what you need to do. Yours to figure out. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
