Here are a few suggestions: Check out the frame for signs of twisted metal or welding repairs. Check the tread and tire wear. Check battery cables and connections for corrosion. Check the engine and hydraulic oil. Start the engine-there should be no signs of black smoke coming from the exhaust. Check the PTO. Check the 3-point hitch. Drive the tractor. Check for clutch slippage. If possible, connect an implement to the tractor and see if all the hydraulics, PTO, and 3-point hitch are operating properly. Listen for engine knock or miss. Check for oil leaks. If you are buying from a local source, check and look to see if the other equipment they own is taken care of. Don't be in a rush, and don't be afraid to ask to drive the tractor with an implement on. This is important. After driving, check again for any leaks. Welcome aboard and Best Wishes.
