Hello TBN Community,

I'm new to the forum but feel like I've been a member for a couple years now with the number of posts I've found helpful. I'm starting to get in deep with my 1994 Ford 1720 w/7108 FEL and about 1400 hours. I'm trying to keep it running as my main workhorse around the homestead and avoid upgrading to something newer.

I have a short list of upgrades that I'm planning to keep up with the growing number of projects around my farm (100 egg layers, 100 fruit trees and growing pipe dreams)

1. Find and install subframe mounting kit for Woods 750 backhoe. (Or alternative backhoe)
2. Upgrade FEL to universal quick attach so I can swap forks on quickly in winter when I'm moving crates of firewood around.
3. Fix FEL bucket tilt leakage. I believe the problem is within the remote valve because it squawks pretty loud in the summer even when the level is in the center position indicating some sort of fluid bypass. I'm guessing my options are rebuild, by a new aftermarket replacement or try to find an original replacement.
4. Diagnose tractor bodyheat that arises from long bouts of running the backhoe. I'm not getting any smoke or temp lights and the heat doesn't seem to be coming from the engine. However the body of the tractor around the rear gets so hot (in summer) that you can't hold your bare hand on it.

Other than these issues, it starts easy, runs great, does almost everything I ask of it and would love to continue using it. That being said, I'm a value guy and don't want this asset to depreciate to a point that it won't have trade in value towards a newer unit.

That's my story.

I greatly appreciate any help that this community provides me past, present and future!

Welcome to TBN:thumbsup: Here's my :2cents:
1. just don't "push" your 3pt. hoe too hard & use common sence. Over time your'll develop a feel and know when you simply just need a bigger machine.
2. This a fairly simple & cheap adapter but will require either modifications to your existing bucket or a new (ssqa) bucket (added cost)
3. just parts (new valve) and I doubt it's specific to the machine. In other words any 2 spool "off the shelf" valve will probably work with attention paid to the size & thread of your existing hydraulic lines, although there are adapters available.
4. This is concerning, I'd make sure that ALL of your "fluids" are up to level. Just using the tractors PTO (assuming your just running the bh's pump) should not heat things up.
