New Holland TN75 crankcase filling with fluid

The tractor engine started racing and smoking like it was going to be a run away diesel. I checked the engine crankcase and it overflowed. Didn't smell diesel in the oil. I'm thinking hydraulic fluid is getting into the oil as the hydraulic level dropped considerably. Any ideas on what failed to allow fluid into the oil? And if a project a DIY mechanic can handle? Thanks!

IF you find out its diesel fuel, the front seals on the injection pump ARE KNOWN to go bad..
& you cant just yank it off.. it has to be timed before removal.. just a heads-up.

The seals in the front of the pump more than likely have failed.

And more than likely the seals failed because the pump is worn out.

I removed the front pump first, it operates smoothly and does not appear to be faulty. Would a leaky seal be easily noticed? Also, is removing the rear pump for power steering going to be as easy as the front pump?

Pressurize it w/ air.. air in one side, block off the other.. spray seal area w/ soapy water.
Repeat on other side.. air in one, block off the other..
NOT TO MUCH.. don't blow 90 psi into it or you WILL blow the seals..
IF its filling the crank case, it must be leaking bad, so 3-5psi should show you what you need to see..
I sure hope its THAT cuz the others are not fun to check..
