I have a TL90A New Holland tractor loader about a 2006 model - It has a 4.5 Litre engine and 12 x 12 manual transmission. About 1700 hours on it.

I bought it from a dealer last fall - they are a McCormick and Hyundai heavy equipment dealer and took it on a trade on a new McCormick tractor - This Tractor/loader was used on a feed lot and it needed a new clutch when traded - they did the repairs prior to selling it.

I have only put about 40 hours on it over the winter plowing snow in my driveway - using it now for haying. I noticed that the clutch pedal linkage is making noise and it feels a little jerky when pushing the clutch in like it is binding - this happens when the clutch is depressed while the engine is shut off. It feels and sounds a bit lime an older tractor that I had that the pressure plate fingers that the throw out bearing contacts had rusted and didnt move as freely as they should. Also the pedal is about 1 inch closer to the floor than the operators manual says so I was going to adjust it today - there are two cables going to the clutch pedal - one appears to be the actual clutch cable but there is also second cable that is not quite as heavy. Both cables are adjusted as far as they go on the threaded rod at the end of the cable so I cant adjust it anymore to raise the pedal to the proper spec. I lubricated the clutch pedal linkage in the cab but no improvement in the clutch action.

Does anyone know what the second cable is on the clutch linkage in the cab ? Also any ideas why the clutch cable would be at the end of the adjustment with a new clutch - if it like most clutch linkages I assume that the pedal will come up higher as the clutch disk wears ? Any thoughts on the noise and binding feeling in the clutch linkge ?

I also had a problem with the brakes yesterday. I ws round baling and over the course of 2 hours I had to push the pedals further and further to get any braking until I had no brakes at all. This morning I used the tractor for about 15 minutes to move some round bales and the brakes were perfect.

Any ideas what might have casued the temporary loss of brakes ?

Aprreciate any feedback anyone has

thanks
Gary

Can't help you with the clutch but do you have the proper hydraulic system fluid for the wet brakes? It sounds as if the when the fluid heats up during use, you lose your brakes. Is the system full? The fluid must have the design friction modifiers in it.
