New Holland TL100A Gearbox Issues

I have a New Holland TL100A that I have a problem with the Hi/Lo Range. On these tractors you have a 1st, 2nd and 3rd range to select from, yesterday whilst trying to go from 3rd back to 2nd it jammed the gear-stick lever and I was not able to select anything. After a couple of minutes of wiggling the lever it appeared to select neutral, when I tried placing it back into one of the ranges it would only go into the 2nd and 3rd position but as soon as I attempted to put the shuttle into forward or reverse and let my foot of the clutch it would start to stall the engine as if the whole gearbox has locked up or selected two gears. When I placed the gear lever back into the neutral position and selected the shuttle the tractor would move momentarily and than stop again.
Has anyone else had a similar problem?

I had a similar problem years ago with an IHC 574. Same symptoms. We thought we'd have to break the tractor in half, but we got lucky. There was a plate on top of the transmission part of the case; when it was removed a bent or broken shifter fork ( I can't recall) needed replacing. Easy job. Good luck. I hope yours is as easy as mine.

Thanks for the feedback mate, I'm thinking that it is something along those lines also, I have had it happen in older tractors too, I thought with this New Holland being a bit newer it wouldn't have similar issues. Unfortunately this isn't as easy to pull apart as the older tractors either.
