Two issues... 2006 New Holland TC55DA w/EHSS
(1)Anyone had issues with the brake safety switch not working even when bypassed? My brake safety switch when applied is supposed to allow the operator to dismount the tractor while the engine is running. It started operating sporadically and then just stopped working at all. I removed it, cleaned it best as possible (since it doesn't come apart) and it still doesn't work. I tried a temporary jumper to see if that would work and it still does not work. NOW the glow plugs don't work. Does anyone know if these may be related? The glow plugs are activated by the ignition key prior to start up. The light will come on and then go out but I do not hear the familiar "click" when the turn off. Can these two problems somehow be related?
(2)I am preparing to make a set of lower lift arms since I inadvertently bent (BROKE) one of mine while getting tangled up on a stump while using the front end loader while turning around. New Holland wants $700 each for new ones. (The tractor gets abused every now and then) My question is... what steel has everyone been using to make new lift arms out of? I don't want it too strong or I will end up tearing up something else but I don't want it too soft either or I'll end up making several sets. Suggestions...
