I am considering buying a new, 2002 TC25D w/ Supersteer and a NH loader. Price seems competitive, dealer has excellent reputation in this area. Anyone have any experience or comments regarding the TC25D? This is my first compact tractor purchase- I am moving from a '53 Jubilee. Thanks in advance for your comments.

As the 25D is a discontinued product, I hope they are pricing it accordingly.

It appears to be priced accordingly, as it apparently has been replaced by the smaller-framed TC tractors. I like the larger frame of the TC25D, but wanted to see if there were any known negatives to this unit. A similarly equipped TC29D would run about $2k more. I plan to use it with a 5' bushhog, a 9" auger, boom pole, etc.

Welcome to TBN, Ernie! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I use my TC25D with all these attachments plus a 914A mmm and a 5' rear blade. Works fine. While it's true the 25D, as well as the 29D (I think) is a discontinued model, there is still a Class II Boomer.

Yes, Mike, as Spencer200 reported, the 29D will be discontinued after this year. And I didn't mean to imply that there was anything wrong with the 25D - we have essentially the same tractor. My comment was offered only to suggest that this model has been out of production (a 2002 model), most likely has been sitting on the lot (or another dealer's lot) for quite a while and, in my opinion, buyers are reluctant to purchase a discontinued model as they fear that there must be a reason the tractor was discontinued. I think these issues strengthen the buyer's negotiating position and the discount should be impressive.

Ernie,

When I upgraded my TC21D to the TC29D I originally was after the TC25D. The upcharge from the 25 to the 29 was only $400.00 at the time. For me it was a no brainer. The 25 is no longer in production and I believe they would give you a good deal to move that tractor. If I was you, I would update your profile and let us know what area of the country your in. The prices of tractors vary from area to area. Then display your prices and we can tell you if your getting a good deal or not.

Here's mine,

As far as the TC25D it is a good tractor. It is being replaced because competition took them there by offering the TC24D in the class 1 tractor. It is my understanding that the 29 will be going also soon. But to buy that and worry because of problems, I don't think so, it was a long running tractor for them. The competition and the times change, all manufactures change their line up.

Welcome Ernie,
I've had a 25D for almost two years now. Personally I feel the 25 was too small for the mid size frame. I love the tractor but find myself constantly crying for power. I live on pretty flat ground and still lug the heck out of the tractor when getting on inclines in mid range unless I'm at 2500+ RPM's with no attachments. I wish I'd paid the 800 to move up to the 33.

BTW the 29 is the same cubic inch engine at high RPM's. I want to find out from the experienced if I can convert mine. Good luck...
