Good morning,
I was using my tractor w/front end loader to knock over a small tree. I have done this many times and know the tractor has been capable of handling it. However, I have occasionally pushed it too far and it would cut off on me. This happened yesterday but w/a new twist. Where it has always started right up previously, yesterday it was dead. Doesn't make a sound, like if I tried to start it in gear; not a thing. I thought maybe there was too much stress on the engine as it didn't release at all when it cut out, so I got my truck and pulled it backward to release the pressure. That didn't work as the bucket is partly in the ground and when I pulled the tractor backward it did come back a few feet but the bucket is still in the ground, so I think there is still pressure on the bucket. I tried to jump start it off my truck; total silence. I moved the gear stick back and forth into neutral thinking maybe the engine didn't disengage; nothing. I don't know if any of this is relevant or not
I feel like there might be a problem w/one of the safety things that won't allow the tractor to start if they aren't engaged. But again, I have no clue. I just know it has been dependable from the time I've had it and I am lost without it. I am in the process of putting up a new fence by myself and can't continue without my wonderful tractor.
Does anyone have an idea of what the problem could be? If yes, I have to ask you to be very specific in any directions as I am mostly totally ignorant about this stuff. I keep the fluids filled and expect it to just work when I ask it!
Thanks so much,
