What's your opinion of the New Holland garden tractors and their lawn tractors?
Got a chance to buy one for $4500.
It's a LS 19 I think.
What do you think of the price?

NH's garden tractors, and their ZTRs, are made under contract by Toro. They have the same specs and same features as the Toro lawn/garden tractors. Compare the prices to comparable Toro machines.

I saw in another post that no around you handled them. I know it is a bit of a drive, but Franklin Tractor Sales in Columbus usually has some Zero-turns in stock. I've never seen any garden tractors though.

As Bob said they are made by Toro. Neighbor has a Toro Zero Turn. Had it probably 3 years now. No problems that I know of. I believe it is a 50" cut an a Kawasaki engine but I could be wrong on that. Though I'm not sure I would buy one as they look to be a lot lighter built than the Kubota, Bob-Cats, etc. Of course I know I'm comparing commercial duty with residential, but with the amount of grass I mow I really need commercial.

I was looking at a toro at a toro dealer yesterday and the salesman told me it was built by MTD.
Does what what you posted and what the salesman told me mean that the Tractors in the box stores Toro Tractors and New Holland Lawn and Garden tractors are all the same Cheap MTD Stuff?

UP DATE
I went and looked at the Tractor this morning.
Turns out It's a 2004 MY 19 with a 52'' deck left over inventory with 0 hours priced at #4500 and still carries the full factory 2 year warranty.
When I got back home I called another dealer and they also have one just like it left over from the 2004 inventory and zero hours too / same warranty for $4650. This one was never stored out side.
I called a 3rd dealer and they can order me a new 2006 MY19 with the 52'' deck for $5900.
What is your thoughts on these 3 offers?
Which one would you choose?

That would have been my choice too if I hadn't went straight to a Cub Cadet dealer then on to a Simplicity dealer.
The Simplicity was $4400 for a Conquest
The Cub Cadet was $3500 new left over 2005 GT 2554
New 2006 GT2554 $4000

I would still pick the #2 from above if for no other reason than the Kawasaki engine vs. the Briggs. Also seems like the NH has a few more nice to haves on it vs. the Simplicity. Didn't even really look at the CC, as I haven't heard much good about their lawn tractors lately even when you take the box store models out of the equation.

It seems like every article I read about who manufactures lawn tractors...MTD is involved.
