New Holland Paint Colors

What is the deal with New Holland and so many paint colors?

Can't they decide on a color and stick too it. And use it for all of their equipment.

Tractors -> Blue, gray, and black -> with the shade of each depending on the year
Wagons, bailers, etc -> red and yellow
Combines -> yellow
Telehandler -> yellow
skidsteers -> yellow and gray
Loader backhoes -> yellow

I can understand the loader backhoes, skidsteers and telehandlers being yellow because they are considered construction equipment. But why can't the rest of their ag equipment be a consistent set of colors?

You go to a New Holland dealer to pick up some matching paint and have to choose between a few shades for each color. You go to a John Deere dealer and have 2 choices, green or yellow, (and maybe a black).

Maybe they change colors when the parent company changes hands. There is also a red color now too. I appreciate your frustration.

I don't think they understand the "Brand" philosophy as well as Deere. I know construction equipment has a certain color that implies "industrial", but those who are loyal to Blue will not accept a change very well.

I read that same post and thought "they are changing the colors again!". I'm getting ready to buy a tractor (either a <font color=blue>NH TC40D</font color=blue> or <font color=green>JD 4410</font color=green> I believe) and that will be one more reason to order one. I hate getting something and they change the color/style a few days after I bought it.

Just like when cars change bodystyles right after I buy it. That's one of my biggest pet peeves. It looks like my two-week old car is several years old because it has the old body style. I know changing the tractor's color isn't quite the same, but it still would bug me if I got last year's color.

The grey is a corporate grey it is suppose to be the same on the case tractors so when the base of the tractor comes off the assembly line they do not have to paint it two different colors. The Fiat red was always around just as the New Holland blue was, the TN's are available in red or blue depending on what country you live in.

John Deere has two shades of green. There is the classic green that is on the vintage tractors and the new brighter green that is on the new tractors. All tractor companies change color especially after a merger or buyout. It is taking a few years but CNH is finally getting things sorted out.

Back in the early '80s both Case and Cat changed their copyrighted yellow colors because the paint had high levels of hexivalent chromium. The chromium provided high levels of UV and salt protection as well as making the paint very durable. The switch was a result of stricter EPA levels for allowable hex chrome in groundwater and industrial wastewater discharge.

Guys calm down its just the base gray color it will be the same on all equipment that new holland and case sells when they get done with the changes a dark charcoal gray. on both the ag and construction equipment. It is supposed to start showing up shortly on new equipment being shipped.

Except for the fact that the last two TN tractors to land at our dealership have black chassis instead of gray.

CNH calls that a grey. It is the same color on the Case-IH tractors.
