Same Mercury 75 Farmtrac 795DTC
So, I am back again comparing a 2011 Case IH 75C and a 2012 New Holland TD5050. The case has been mainly used for cleaning manure and has 4364 hours on it. https://www.tractorhouse.com/listin...2011-case-ih-farmall-75c?ST=new+york&CTRY=usa

The New Holland is just what I can see in the photo, muddy. 212 New Holland TD5:confused: Tractor For Sale >> LandPro Equipment; NY, OH & PA

I know more information about the Case because I have a good friend that farms with the prior owner of that tractor. The welding on the pillars is from it cracking from having an oversized bucket on the tractor is what I am told and that is it in good mechanical shape. The reason I am comparing these too is because between replacing those pillar and tires the price would still kind of close to the new Holland. The New Holland has only 1130 hours on it and seems in better shape but I do not have an inside source to information about that tractor. The NH is a bit bigger than what I would normally need but it would still do the work just fine. Any pro's or con's with these models? I see the case must have a side exhaust on the bottom of the tractor. I assume that would be a problem for any work in deeper mud and clay? I know my SAME will sink to the axles when I am moving manure from the cow area.

I would go for the TD5050. That 75C looks well used and somewhat abused. The Case IH Farmall 75C is the same as a NH PowerStar T4.75. There is quite a difference going from a T4 Series to a T5 Series. You can go to the NH website and compare the current models, the T5.100 and the PowerStar 75 side by side.

Also search on TBN for threads about the NH T4.75 and the Case 75C. Some folks didn't have good luck with their tractors.

i am have no personal experience with Case equipment but would never consider any tractor with 4000+ hours on it, even if practically giving it away.

The 5050 has a bigger frame, more HP, less hours, and more capacity. I have a 2012 T4.75 cab NH bought last year with 1K hours. It's a good tractor. Comparing these two I would confirm the maintenance and history. If the 5050 has been well maintained I would prefer it over the 75.

So, I am going to change it up. I'm not going to consider the case anymore. I've been keeping my eye on a farmtrac 785dtc. Here is the tractor being sold at a dealership last year: 25 FarmTrac 785DTC 4x4 Tractor with Loader For Sale - YouTube This would be comparable size to the New Holland. Its in pristine shape compared to the new Holland (at least the owner has said he only put about 10 hours or so on it since he purchased). Are there any common issues with machines being old and having very low hours? It avgs out to about 42 hours a year...

Go with the NH, the CIH was most likely on a dairy and used in manure a lot, that is about like being used in salt as far as corrosion.
The 4000 hours is nothing on a working tractor.
Don't even look twice at the farm trac unless you are going to do your own work and be willing to wait for parts after you locate them.

Just be aware that Farmtrac is out of business. So, you might want to verify if parts are still available.

Some of the Farmtrac models were made by LS. Tractordata shows the 785DTC as being manufactured in Italy by Farmtrac. So, I'm not sure who's parts might interchange with it.

A few years back,, EVERY FarmTrac around here sold super low,, because the parts became unavailable,,

That tractor on the video falls into that category,, if it were any other make, the price would be double.
That seller makes it clear,, the tractor is sold "as is, where is",,, several times.
Don't end up with a paper weight,,,

SAME is the manufacturer of this farmtrac engine. As far as my research goes, so far it looks like parts are available online but there would be a waiting period. I don't mind doing the work myself but I am still green at doing mechanic work. Its the troubleshooting part that I am not very good at. I currently have a SAME and I can get normal maintenance parts for it even though it is 30+ years old. The hard part I have is justifying the 22k price tag when I can pay probably that same price for the NH but with double the hours and more wear and tear. I know I have always been keeping my eye out for tractors for sale and its not often in my area that I see a farmtrac. So either they didn't sell a lot of them in my area or people really like them and keep them or they just keep them because they can't get what they want for them in a trade or private sale. I'm also not in a terrible rush to get a new tractor so I can wait it out a little bit.

The Case was used twice a day every day for cleaning manure and that's basically the same concern I had with it. I'll be cleaning manure with whatever tractor I get as well but maybe 4 or 5 times a year at most.
