New holland mc28
Hello, Just picked up a new to me, new holland mc28 yesterday. Everything works good, except the fuel gauge.

And the real problem. And why he sold it so cheap, The pto lever wont engage the blades unless held all the way down in just the right spot. Once you let your hand off, it stops. I have the side cover off and the linkage all seems to be there, but I have nothing to compare it to. The only thing I notice is the cable attached only moved like a 1/4" when the lever is moved. I dont even know what the cable does, the safty switch in new.

Sorry in advance this is my first tractor like this,

With the seat up so I can acually see what the linkage going to the pto is doing.

When pto lever is pushed down and over into the on position it does nothing. If you pull it back over you get another 1/8 of inch of the linkage going forward and it kicks on.

Some one has been messing with it before the lock nuts are both loose and the threaded rod is adjusted as long as it can go.

What would cause the oem adjustment rod to be to short to engage it?

Heres some pics guys, hope this helps, thanks in advance! The cable is off in the pics, I was just making sure it was moving freely.

Im hoping its not the clutch, but im not coming up with any other cause, the clutch is high dollar, and gonna be a pain to change.
