I searched for questions regarding a New Holland Hayliner 67 and found mostly 68 info (including a recent thread that had some really good info) that didn't exactly answer my questions/concerns. My JD dealer has a 67 that is going to wholesale and asked me if I was interested in it. I haven't physically inspected it yet (I will Monday or Tuesday) but from the pictures it looks to be in decent condition; I was told it was stored indoors. He told me around $1500 but after doing some sales research, I think that's pretty high.
So, question one, if I could buy it in the $1000 range, what glaring issues should I look for? This is a much older machine so I'm not expecting new machine performance but I don't want major downtime in the middle of baling. I will have winter to do any refurbishing in a heated shop so I'm not worried about doing that; just looking for some insight. And question two, if anyone has a like baler, is it a light duty baler or could it handle regular use (1-2K alfalfa bales on mostly flat ground)? It seems like it could be a good deal but sometimes things are not what they could have been....
Thanks for any thoughts on this.
