New Holland 3045 super suite
I have a brand new New Holland 3045 Boomer tractor and I have to change filters at 50 hours which is not far away with all the snow plowing I have been doing.. I know a oil, hydraulic and fuel filter will cost a fortune at the dealer so does anyone know the part numbers for these three filter thru NAPA is??

Thanks

Buy the NH filters and oil at least while it's under warranty. With what you spent for the tractor a few bucks more for the NH filters will be nothing if you need the warranty.

When I cut my NH engine oil filter apart to look at how well it was made, I found a VERY well made filter. Maybe we get what we pay for.

did you also cut open the other brands to see if there's a difference? there's a good chance that the NH filter is made by the same people who make the other brand.

I have cut apart Fram, ac Delco, Motorcraft, Purolator, Onan, Suzuki, NH filters and others since I started in the 70's. The Onan engine filter was made much better than the cheaper filters. Suzuki motorcycle filters were made much better than the aftermarket ones at the time. There are brands I feel safe with and others I stay away from for my car and truck filters. There are plenty of articles on the internet cutting filters and comparing them.

I really Doubt New Holland makes their own Filters . On another board , It was reported that filter shipments to their New Holland Dealership were in Fleetguard boxes yet the actual filter had the typical New Holland markings . It is a lot cheaper for a company like New Holland to pay a filter maker to stamp their name on a product than to have all that equipment themselves . Same likely can be said for Onan , Motorcraft , etc.... . I've Seen one company package one item in 8 different packages , each package marked with a specific brand and then sold at the various brand stores at remarkably different prices , yet all the same product inside .

My experience with New Holland's warranty is it is not worth much more than the paper it is wrote on , It actually boils down to how good a local dealer you have , not the Actual maker . If your local dealer goes to bat for you , it can make a world of difference , while a less worthy dealer does not help at all .

Myself , I've used Wix Filters on everything for quite some time now . Never have had any issue's including a old '84 ford f250 with 150,000+ original miles and the 460 engine still keeps purring along , with very little oil use , ( does need a new clutch but that is another issue !!! ) .

Wix makes virtually all the Napa Filters .

Then I GO here to buy filters in Bulk thus save or lower shipping costs per filter : Wix Filters & NapaGold Filters: FleetFilter Secure Online Store

New Holland does not make their own filters, that's true. But their filters are built to NH specifications, which often are different than the generic filters produced by Fleetguard, Donaldson, or whomever.

Thanks for the info.. Since this is such a new tractor I am having a hard time finding anything according to application.. So I am going to order the first batch of filters from New Holland and then I will have part numbers to cross over.. Plus by then I will have more age on the tractor and maybe it will start showing up in the parts catalogs.. The will be bringing up my Backhoe and box scraper around the first of March and I will have them delivered then.

I would strongly advise staying with NH filters and oil until your warranty is over. Don't leave the hole in your warranty where NH can say you didn't use their filter that is why your engine or transmission hydraulics etc. failed. It's real cheap Insurance to have NH stamped on the side. I have used NAPA and Wix filters for years on our other tractors and trucks with no problems but with our new 3050 cvt I'm using NH products while its still in the warranty period. If you do decide to use another brand make sure you use their better model if you can get it ie NAPA sells two or three filters for the same application I usually use their platinum or gold version.

I hope your wrong about this as NH is just getting involved directly into problems we have had with our tractor since it was delivered with the pto, cvt transmission, power steering on our new 3050 cvt with 138 hours now on it.

I think RickB is a dealer , Which Based upon his knowledge and help here , I wish had been My dealer when I bought my TC30 in 2003 . As I stated , it is not so much New Holland but the actual dealer you work with . My Brother experienced the same thing in Washington when he bought his TC 18 back in 2004 or 2005 . Original dealer was of little / no help in a obvious manufacturing defect on his loader , but in his case , he had another dealer less than 20 miles from the original , so he went there . They not only fixed the issue , but took care of a couple of other issue's that he had not noticed before they became bigger issue's .

My local dealer were I got my tractor from , is no longer in business , they were bought out by the dealer from a larger dealership 80+ miles east of here . Most of the Farm / Ag business that use New Holland equipment , Use to deal with that dealer , but as a small non business tractor owner , I could ill afford the service call charge's . Now that Dealer has a local representation here , thus , although I have not needed anything yet , I would likely be more than happy dealing with them .

What sort for price difference are we talking about here? I'm guessing it's not more than a few bucks, but it would be interesting to see actual figures.

In the past I've tried cross reference filters before. The ones I got from places like Napa would fit on my tractor but were no where near the size of the OEM filter. I have no test data regarding actual performance, flow rates, etc. In the end I've found it easiest to just order a batch of filters from Messicks. Their prices are good, they ship really fast, and I don't think Napa will have the fuel filters, air filters, hydro filters, etc. so I have to order these anyway. I just have Messicks throw in a few oil filters too.

Here's a couple of WIX engine oil filters that match the NH part number:

87415600 NEW HOLLAND NHL 51348

87415600 NEW HOLLAND NHL 51348XP

WIX makes the NAPA filters and for their NAPA part numbers just remove the first number prefix from the WIX part number. So NAPA's version of these filters would be 1348 and 1348XP

The Wix XP filter is their "heavy duty" filter. If you assume that the New Holland filter is equivalent to the heavy duty Wix filter, you can pay $15.75 for the New Holland filter from Messicks, or $15.42 for a Wix XP filter from an eBay supplier.

If you assume the basic Wix filter equals the New Holland filter, the Wix is less expensive. I think this may be an apples to oranges comparison.

There are some suppliers that list the Wix XP filter for less, but those suppliers have very few customer reviews. I'm not sure if they are trustworthy. Can someone find the Wix XP filter for a reputable supplier for a good price? Do they also carry the other filters we need?

So the dealer is sending a oil filter, fuel filter and Hydraulic filter for the first change.. Does anyone have wix or another brand of filter part numbers for this 2.2l Shibaura engine in this 2014 New Holland 3045

As Jerry said, it would be Wix 51348 or 51348XP. The XP filter is the heavy duty filter, which is likely equivalent to the New Holland filter. As far as I can tell they cost 33 cents less than the New Holland filter.

I found your oil filter by getting the a part number from Messsicks site and then went ito the WIX site and got the cross referenced filter. You can do the same. Get the NH part number for the other filters and then go to the WIX website and punch those numbers in and it will tell you what the WIX equivalent is. It will give you a picture and the specs. You can double check by finding your tractor model by clicking on the "applications" section.

Wix 51348XP Case of 6 ( Wix 51348XP )

Case of 6 for $49 plus shipping = $68 . $68 Divided by 6 = $ 11.33 each delivered to your door . ( shipping charges reflect to my door in Oregon , may be less to others )
