Tractor
new holland TC35d
We purchased a new 2001 TC 35D Tractor from Capital Tractor Latham NY. We use it on a small farm mostly for brush hogging and rototilling. I have performed all service and maintenance per the manual. To date the tractor only has 717 hrs on it, and has always been stored inside. As of last week I had to purchase my 3RD HYDRAULIC OIL COOLER. (almost $300) Every couple of years it starts leaking in the fins. This is the only part I have had to replace on this tractor. The service and parts dept admitted that NH had a problem with this part. The first replacement I bought was supposed to be the "updated cooler", oh yeah I also had to buy the new "updated" hoses and fittings. Well I have had to buy 2 more since then. NEW HOLLAND will not do anything about it. They keep penalizing me for not breaking it again within the 1 year warranty. I complained to Customer Service Regional Dept. They gave me a case number blah, blah. Bottom line once again they leave me high and dry and I had to purchase a 3rd oil cooler, along with a filter and another gallon of fluid. How many of these should I have to buy. They made a comment of "how do we know you put it on correctly". That's fine but can't explain the first failure cooler which was installed at the factory.
If you like customer service and support like this then buy a NEW HOLLAND.

I agree that's a nuisance. $600 over ten years is $60/yr. plus fluids and filters, not an expensive machine to own, aside from the aggravation. Just sayin.

Tony, did you take any photos? I'd love to see photos of your issues. I have a TC45D that was built in 2000 according to the unit number and I bought it in February 2001. My HST cooler has been trouble free except for battery acid damage of the hoses/fittings going to it. Those hoses were replaced under warranty as was my radiator. The cooler is the same as came on the tractor. We've made some comparisons of the fittings where the hoses attach to the cooler and those were changed on many tractors 2003 and later. Lots of those developed leaks due to failure of the cooler where the fittings were welded.

I've included a photo of my cooler below for reference.

Finally, you say you've had your tractor since 2001, and now with your first post on TBN you slam New Holland and make accusations without any proof or examples whatsoever. It's obvious to me and anyone else that you took the trouble of joining TBN only to deliver your critique of New Holland Customer Service. If you think John Deere has no customer service problems and want to buy JD from now on, good for you. That's what choices are all about. However, don't think we can't see that you are taking a swipe at New Holland without a speck of evidence. I think you can do better than that.

Tony,
I would say you need to talk to the national customer service folks. I had a situation with my tz Tractor that was ocurring prior to end of warranty.. but it was not really broken until now. Frame issue. 4 yrs out of warranty. I called NH local good folks and they politely suggested calling the national number.. I did.. I praised my local dealer, sent them pics and the history of the tractor and after a few calls, some patience, and work with the local folks NH replaced the problem components. Took a little gentle polite nudging.. On the other hand my sister has had a REAL run around with a brand new Deere. Her husband died in the meantime in an accident and Deere still is trying to hose her over.. So..l am not saying NH or any is perfect however NH has done far better by me.
