Tractor
Kubota L5240
I am looking at a 2012 New Holland Boomer 20 (23hp) with a front loader and backhoe. I am looking for something smaller to supplement my L5240 Kubota in the tight woods/trees.

It appears to have a slightly larger frame than a BX25 and 2 less HP. The backhoe appears to be heavier than the Kubota and just measuring the arms it may have a slightly longer reach.

Kubota salesman said they weren稚 very well made.

I can稚 find much info on the tractor. Anyone have feedback on quality, reliability, issues etc?
The tractor has 200 hours. I don稚 want to buy someone痴 issues.
Thanks for the help.

It looks like a nice clean tractor, the only thing I notice is that the three point arm could get bent when you put the stabilizers down on the backhoe. I would take them off.

I bought mine from a local New Holland dealer 2.5 years ago. I have 140 hours on mine and love it. My neighbor has a big Kioti and has told me that he is amazed at what the little NH will do. For comparison purposes the tractor is made by LS of South Korea. I think it is badged a J2023H. When I was buying mine I narrowed it down to a Kubota BX25d, Kioti CS2410 and the New Holland. I payed a bit more than the others for the Boomer and made the choice based on the dealers and the physical size of the Boomer compared to the others. I am sure they are all good tractors. The Kioti dealer did tell me that they had lots of problems with the kioti backhoe and if I wanted to dig anything more than flowerbeds I should go with the next bigger tractor.

I have a Boomer 24 without a hoe. Only like 30 hours on it, but I love it. It is a workhorse. The dealer told me that NH has a much beefier frame on their smaller tractor than most other colors. No idea if that is true.

If you are looking at the Boomer 20 you might also want to look at the LS XJ2025H. Pretty much the same tractor and the price may be lower.

I had a 2015 LS J2023H with loader and just sold it because I needed a bigger tractor for land I bought. Plus building a house, so more dirt work = bigger tractor (that's my excuse). The little LS was surprisingly powerful and useful, though. It had about 25 hours when I sold it. It had good weight to power ratio and was extremely user-friendly to operate. Ran an old JD 6' bushhog in moderate waist-high grass without issue. Loader and 3pt lift capacity is impressive. My main complaint with it is that the 3pt link won't lift high enough for some Cat. 1 implements (ie. scrape blade) and it really needed rear ballast to offset the loader and front end weight. Total unit w/ loader and no ballast weighs in around 2300-2500 lbs (rough estimate). It always felt like it had more than 23 engine hp.
