8560 New Holland Range Command transmission W/EDC 13500hrs+.
Faulting F1D “Clutch D open or short to ground”
Background: This fault has been around for years amongst a multitude of others along with a failing fuel pump had left tractor largely unusable for the last 10 years. Now I’ve moved back, living and working on farm I’ve managed to make time to rebuild/repair the tractor but this one last fault has left me to believe the TCM is buggered. When tractor is cold it shifts fine. However after 10minutes of operation when shifting into most gears (not forward A1,A2,B1,C1,C2 or reverse B1) the TCM will fault F1D. Once faulted it can take up to 20minutes of tractor being turned off before it resets.
Oil is fine. Filters haven’t seen many hours and all HYD functions work well now. No abnormal noise/vibrations. The clutch solenoids and range solenoids test fine and have been swapped between valves to see if code changes. I’ve bypassed the harness from TCM pins 14/13 to D clutch solenoid. TCM has good ground and power (externally tested). I’ve even looked internally at TCM board and circuit and no abnormalities observed. The clutch pack fill and synchros have been calibrated through service mode (which it didn’t fault on calibrating warm @ 46 degreesC)
I believe it’s the TCM but I’m wondering if anyone online has had experience with the 60series NH or if anyone knows the Clutch to Gear combinations as the service manual doesn’t specify.
Cheers.
