I just bought a New Holland 1996 8010 96 HP Tractor.

But the transmission has to be replaced apparently.

Anyone have an idea where I could purchase a Used transmission or perhaps a new one and any idea what that might cost?

It seems to me, you would just rebuild the old one...

It's NOT going to be cheap!

New 8x2 transmission is about $7200 +/-. Remanufactured one is about $5600 +/-.
New 16x4 transmission is over $16000. +/- Don't know about remanufactured 16x4.

Maybe could rebuild yourself for less depending on what's broke,
Noy a fan of used transmissions. Lot of work to not really know if it's broke or worn out too.

Where can I order these transmissions? Do you know the website?

Well I rebuilt it. 8000 for the parts (try finding old New Holland Parts....next to impossible). 4000 for an experienced Mechanice
plus the cost of purchase (1500 plus 2000 to ship it back here). So for 15,500 I have a rebuilt transmission on a 2002 New Holland
8010 dual power low profile tractor. I saw one on Tractorhouse - 1996 for 16500.

I would not recommend what I did but I did it and it done....thank god.

Not sure what a New Holland 96 HP 2002 low profile Dual tractor is worth. But it should keep me happy for a while. New Holland has a
policy of not supporting the parts on their tractors after 10 years. Really stupid policy. Also if you have an 8010 I found that a number of
parts (exhaust system and rigid tube) from a New Holland 7010 will fit on an 8010. If anyone has the idea that rebuilding a transmission is
an easy thing to do...well send them to me...I can get them straightend out.
