New Holland 1925 overheating

I had been having trouble with my tractor overheating after 45 minutes to an hour of shredding. I recently flushed the radiator and put a new belt on the tractor. Today, after about an hour of shredding, I stopped to clean the radiator screen as it often gets full of seeds and such. This time it was not at all clogged, so I put it back and got back up in the tractor seat. My overheating light popped on immediately when I sat down! I didn't see any radiator fluid spewing out, but it was too hot to check.

Any ideas of what might be causing this?

Flush the radiator fins with water. Make sure you flush from the engine side towards the outside.

These NH water pumps aren't the greatest. We had issues with them on the early 80's models. Perhaps also have your radiator professionally cleaned. Less than 100 bucks at a rad shop and a lot cheaper than an engine rebuild.

Let it cool down, then open the radiator cap and start it up. Look for flow past the filler neck, a constant flow of liquid, and watch for any bubbling up of fluid, or the fluid raising and overflowing out of the radiator. Try revving it slightly and see if the pattern changes; more revs should = more flow.
It's possible when you flushed the rad you may have caught some air bubbles in the circuit, so running it at idle and then revving it up slightly may dislodge the air.
Flow is absolutely necessary. Bubbling up, or worse yet the fluid rising and then overflowing the filler neck, not so much.

To help find the cause of your overheating can you say why you flushed the rad and changed the belt, aside from the obvious, was there already a overheat issue when you flushed it? Was the belt slipping, or just worn out and time to be changed?
