Buying Advice New Holland 1630 loader

I'm looking at a 1998 NH 1630 with 800 hrs that has hydro drive problems. The owner showed a receipt for service that found clutch way to tight and said it worked well on return but not for long and it is now slipping badly again. I am trying to get through to the apparently very busy service department at the dealer but in the meanwhile any input on this model and the drive system? Any history of chronic failure? The machine is nearby, very clean, just what I'm looking for if the price turns out right and I'm not buying a nightmare.
