Tractor
CK30hst
Hello all. My search for a new tractor with a cab began about 6 months ago while moving snow here in the northeast. My wife asked, "when are you going to get a cab tractor?" I had been using a Kioti CK30 for the last 15 years. I have nothing bad to say about that tractor. Dealing with the loader arm issue was a bit of a pain, but I bought new arms and installed myself. The tractor never went back to the dealer for any problems even after 1840 hours. First of all, I am fortunate to have two Kubota dealers within 1/2 hour of my home, (I'm in the middle). This was a big part of my decision to go with Kubota. I had great experiences while shopping at both dealers and I knew it would come down to the trade offer. I was initially interested in the L3560HSTC LIMITED EDITION, but my when my wife found out I was settling for a tractor with a few less bells and whistles, she kept asking why would I do that. Yes, I know you can add some of the stuff back on and save a few dollars. Anyway, I received a very good trade offer from one dealer and decided to get the non-limited L3560 and my wife went along to the dealer. It didn't take long and I was agreeing to upgrade to the L4060. Then, I added rear lights, rear wiper, rear defroster, HD bucket with cutting edge, and a set of hydraulic remotes. It's been a little over a week and going from the CK30 to this 4060 was a huge upgrade. The Kioti was a great tractor for it's size, but this new L4060 is an upgrade in so many ways. Quiter, (yes, I know - the cab), loader with SSQA, etc, etc. And, snow removal next year will be more comfortable while listening to the radio and probably only needing a sweatshirt! By the way, I only looked at one other brand, a Massey Ferguson cab model 35 horse. Very nice tractor with a lot of options included. Cab seemed a bit smaller, but all in all, the Kubota felt more comfortable to me with the control layout. Plus, the dealer appeared to carry multiple brands and was an hour away. Kioti was out because the one I would likely deal with is nearly two hours away. The closest to me has maybe 3 tractors on their lot. The dealer I dealt with for the CK30 is gone. John Deere was not considered. I'm just not a fan of JD. I just knew the HST + on the Kubota would be something I would like to have and I was right. I wanted all the electronic stuff as well. So far, I'm thrilled with my decision. I've probably said "wow" out loud at least once everytime I use it. That will wear off after a while, but I think it may take some time! Thanks tbn for letting me brag a little. I'll get some pictures on here soon.

Cab will be nice during the winter. Hope everything works out great. Go over the tractor with dealer when you get it, note anything that doesn't look right.

Good luck!

You will love that tractor. I have an L4240HSTC that we bought in late December 2018 that was pressed into snow plowing service this past Winter (for what little we had). It has also been used for mowing a few times. The refurb on the 91" RFM still isn't done, so the 6 footer from the L3200 is being used. It's already my favorite lawn mower.

I thought the HST+ was something that wasn't all that worthwhile till I started using it. I get a big smile on my face every time I climb into the cab. What part of PA are you in?

Delivery day 4/17. Paperwork completed and the delivery guy followed me home. Great experience! A retirement gift to myself after working 42 years. image000000.jpeg

Couple more. Used both the heat and AC. That's how it is in the mountains of PA. Heat in the morning and AC in the afternoon. The 100 dollar radio is nice too and came from Messicks. I actually had the radio a few weeks before the tractor. IMG_20190425_083637956.jpegIMG_20190425_083622737.jpeg

Congrats on the tractor.

I'd also consider adding a ballast box or other to make FEL work more stable. 1,000 lbs or more makes a difference.

Some people like filled tires or wheel weights, but I prefer a 3-pt box to help remove weight from the front axle.

Enjoy the new ride.

Tires are filled. This was a pleasant surprise to me. Salesperson said that was automatic when a loader is installed. I found out about this while going over a pre-delivery checklist before being loaded up at the dealer. Although I felt that I knew a lot about the tractor already from a previous test drive and lots of research on line, it was a great experience to have someone care enough to spend the time and be thorough when I'm sure they do this over and over. I always appreciate someone knowing their product completely whether it's a car, truck, etc. Shows they care and are doing their job. I don't remember this with my first tractor, but that was 15 years ago. Still liked the dealer and it could have been because it was a simpler tractor.

Congrats! Beautiful area and tractor. You'll get to play in the snow more than I do. I'm only about 5 minutes from Messick's down here in the flatlands:)

Beautiful machine Sir, and congrats! Good call on that heavy duty bucket, looks beefy. That machine should last you the rest of your life.

I've had my L5740HSTC for quite a few years and still have a smile on my face. I have fluid and wheel weights in addition to 1000lbs on the 3PH. I live in the hills and it sure makes it easier and safer on slopes.
