New fuel filter design? Stx38

Got a stx 38 to mow where the 950 can not (septic field and around house).

The fuel filter was leaking and pricing parts i went ahead and got thr "home maintnance kit lg182 for stx38 stx46". Problem is fuel filter is different. The picture on the box matches the one on the tractor but included is s little white one. Will this work with my gravity feed stx?

Have some other issues to work on but for 250$ including the cart im not really worried about it

Worse case situation will be the fuel tank won't drain completely if gravity feed situation. I have heard various stories about using fuel pump filters on gravity feed systems causing fuel restriction, but I haven't seen one myself.

Well the niples are way different on the white filter so i had to trim the fuel lines (where stretched to the shape of the other style) but it fits fine. Filled tank full and ran it for about 3 hours (its 95* so i did 3x60minute sessions with cool down) no fuel problems runs like a champ.

Fixed alot of things already;
Dead battery
Leaking fuel lines and fuel filter
Filthy gummed up fuel tank
Filthy gummed up carb
Filthy oil looks like hadnt ever been changed even warmed up didnt flow out very well
but here are my remaining issues;
1.deck is on crooked i had to put one castor wheel down a notch to even out-- when i drop deck off ill try to adjust hanger
2. Belt tensioner for pto belt keeps popping open. I secured back with wiretie- was this part supposed to have a latch or something to keep it back?

3. Starting-- research shows it is a common problem. Old rusty wires with alot of splices and electrical tape. Thinking about pulling it all and rerwiring minimally avoiding some unnecessary stuff. Seems stupid but if the mower would start all the time i could turn it off when i get off and not need to try to wedge the seat safety on becuase i dont know if it will start.
4. And the one that worrys me the the most is a slight "hiccup" when driving. Be going along smoth and i fell a stutter (not motor but mower feels lime brakes are hit then let go real fast) afraid it is the trans
5. Brakes-- they dont work at all.
6. Dull blades
